The Cruiser Original Baby is thoughtfully designed to support early walkers as they take their first steps. Featuring a breathable 95% polyester and 5% elastane air mesh upper, it keeps little feet cool and comfortable during active play. The zero-drop sole and wide toe box promote natural alignment, balance, and healthy foot development, while the flexible natural rubber outsole offers slip-resistant traction and durability. We have previously purchased these shoes a number of times as our child has grown, and have been impressed with the fit, consistency and quality. One of the main reasons we purchase these shoes is for the wide toe box - our son has wider feet, and the original design of the Cruisers gave plenty of space for his toes to move.
On opening the most recent pair of Cypress/Lantern Green (Size 9 US), I noticed that the shape of the toe box is completely different than it has been on all the other pairs we have owned (including a Size 8 US pair in the same colour). The toe box is narrower, and slopes inward significantly from the outer little toe area. The box also no longer has the "Certified by the American Podiatric Medical Association" logo.
I contacted customer service to ask about the difference, and they shared that this will be the new design of the Cruiser shoes going forward. I appreciated the clarification, but I'm still disappointed with the change. I'm sharing here in case this is helpful to any other people who are expecting the original wider rounded toes.
I have attached three photos:
Photo 1 shows the pair in Cypress/Lantern Green (Size 9 US) side-by-side with one of our other Cruiser shoes where the difference in the toe box shape is clearly noticeable.
Photo 2 shows the pair in Cypress/Lantern Green (Size 9 US) second from the left side-by-side with several other pairs of Stonz we have, including a Size 8 US pair in the same colour, also clearly showing the different toe box shape.
Photo 3 shows the boxes for the shoes from Picture 2 side by side. The box for the pair in Cypress/Lantern Green (Size 9 US) is missing the "Certified by the American Podiatric Medical Association" logo.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for your continued support over the years. We wanted to provide some clarification regarding the updates. Our Cruiser line continues to be APMA and CPMA approved, as displayed on our website and within the product description.
The certification logo was removed as part of a packaging design update and does not reflect any change to the integrity or quality of the product. The Cruiser footwear itself continues to meet the same certification standards.
Regarding the toe box, the updated design was developed so that the widest part of the insole more closely matches the natural width of a child’s foot. The space for the big toe remains unchanged, with the refinement focused on improving overall foot alignment within the shoe. As every child’s feet are unique, we always recommend using our size chart and allowing 0.5–1 cm of extra room for the best fit.
We completely understand your concerns regarding your recent purchase and want to ensure they're addressed properly. We received an insole that was 12-18 months for an 18-24 month shoe (ordered size 5). When we contacted customer service they told us to contact a local shoe repair store to see if they could get us an insole that would fit and they would only refund up to $15 CAD. This is just bad customer service for a brand that tries to appear high quality. Unfortunately after reading other reviews this has not been an isolated incident.

These fit a size smaller than a normal shoe, so size up. But they are my absolute favourite, especially for daycare and being inside with shoes on. I’m so sad this style isn’t available in a bigger size.

Sadly, while we liked the shoes themselves, our experience with customer service was extremely disappointing. As a first-time customer, I purchased two sizes because I was unsure of the fit. The smaller pair was never even tried on, and I paid extra for hassle-free returns. I followed all return instructions, including submitting the required photos before receiving a return label, only to have my return rejected with no clear explanation. Having to chase a refund after paying for return protection has been frustrating and has left a very negative impression. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not order from Stonz again. Buyer beware.

We sincerely apologize for the delay in processing your refund. After investigating, we found that a carrier sync delay prevented the return from updating correctly in our system. We've since improved our process to help ensure this doesn't happen again.

These shoes, first off, are the cutest. We bought the grey with the lime green stripe going up the back. Sizing your baby for fit might be a challenge!!! But worth the effort, because it works. because the sizing fit perfectly. Notifications were good, arrival was prompt.

I always get these shoes for my son. I got two pairs at the same time- one in green and one in blue- they have different fits. The blue fits similar to his old shoes and has a nice large toe box and his foot slides in easily. The green is much tighter and is made for a lower volume foot. I have to squeeze his foot in and the heel is narrower. I did confirm the sizes are the same. I like the fit of the blue better because it allows his foot more room whereas his foot is squished in the green. Stones is my favourite shoe because I don’t want to restrict his toes but now I’m concerned they are changing their shoes since the green is a newer colour.

Bought them for my 14 month old grandson and boy, these are not only cute but they are obviously comfortable because he was flying around the house at top speed, no slipping and great balance. He really enjoys wearing them. A great first shoe for healthy foot development. They’re pricey so we told our daughter we’ll buy the next pair too!
