Summer Is Coming!

June 07, 2019

Summer is on its Way!

And here are a few tips to help you make the most of it.

Start a “Summer Kick-off" Tradition

Kids love traditions and one of many great reasons to celebrate is the beginning of summer. Pick a day that makes the most sense for your family - it could be the last day of school, a holiday weekend or a day that just feels like summer’s finally arrived. You can celebrate the daytime heat with a water balloon fight or some frozen treats. After all, everyone loves ice cream! Or you can take advantage of the longer hours by organizing a BBQ and inviting their friends' families. The more the merrier!

Summer memories

It’s said that we have 18 summers with our kids, which may seem like a lot but we all know how fast time flies by. So, make sure you take the time to capture your summertime fun by taking photos - lots of them! It’s amazing how one special photo can bring back many wonderful memories. And it can be a good reminder of what we have to look forward to when we’re in the thick of winter.

Packing for beach adventures

Here are some items that make for a fun and safe summers:

  • Sun Hats
  • Sunglasses
  • Inflatable Pool
  • Water (to keep everyone hydrated)
  • Sunsuit
  • Beach Tent
  • Beach Blanket
  • Healthy Snacks
  • Baby Powder (which helps to remove sand from the skin)
  • Your camera - so you can make those memories last!

Does anyone feel like they’re in a slump? I do.

We’re all trying to do our part in flattening the curve, which means most of us are staying at home. Although it’s great to be back with the kids full time, our usual daily routine is out of whack. This weird slump feeling has happened to myself within just the first week of quarantine, and I imagine some people relate to my bummy feelings too.
